Generation Overview

The 2019 Acadia is part of this model's second generation of production, which debuted in 2017. Compared to the Acadia's first generation (2007-2016), the second-generation model is more compact but still offered with three rows of standard seating. By the 2019 model year, a V6 engine option was also introduced for buyers who want a little more power and acceleration behind the wheel.

2019 GMC Acadia Engine Options

Under the hood, a 2.5L four-cylinder engine at 193 hp is standard on the 2019 Acadia's SL, SLE1, SLE2, and SLT1 trims. Step up to the SLT2 or Denali trim and you'll find a 3.6L V6 engine at 310 hp. This same engine was also offered as an option on the SLE1, SLE2, and SLT1 trims when the 2019 Acadia was sold new, so you may be able to find a used model with this more powerful engine.

Regardless of engine size, every 2019 Acadia has a six-speed automatic transmission and standard front-wheel drive. All-wheel drive was available when this SUV was sold new on every trim except the SL.

2019 GMC Acadia Interior

Seating configurations on the 2019 Acadia can vary based on trim, but most come equipped with seating for seven across three rows. When sold new, the SLE2 and above trims were equipped with standard second-row captain's chairs, which reduces seating capacity to six—so keep this in mind while you shop if you need a seven-passenger vehicle. It's also worth noting that SLE1 and SLT1 models equipped with the All-Terrain Package when sold new do not have a third row and thus max out at seating for five passengers.

On three-row versions of the 2019 Acadia, you'll find a decent 12.8 cubic feet of cargo space behind the third row. With second- and third-row seats folded, storage is maximized at a full 79 cubic feet. The second row comes with easy-release handles for quick folding—and a power liftgate with programmable height adjustment is standard on the SLE2 and above trims as well.
