About The Jaguar XF

Vehicle Summary

The Jaguar XF creates plenty of buzz as a muscular and elegant executive sedan fueled by a collection of spirited power plants. Its long and lean silhouette brings back the glory days of taking extended tours over back roads and wide-open highways. It caters to your back-seat VIPs with four-zone climate control, rear solar shades, and an adaptive suspension that glides over the pavement. It can be found as the four-door Sedan or the Sportbrake, which blends the appearance of a station wagon and a contemporary crossover.

Introduced in 2008, it served as the poster child for the new Jaguar owners, Tata Motors out of India. It brought back rear-wheel drive performance and the first model was fueled by a stunning 5.0L V8 engine. The first generation was produced until 2014. In 2015, the second and current generation was released, and a new aluminum infused frame allowed the luxury sport car to take advantage of turbocharged innovations under the hood while lowering overall bodyweight.

While shopping, take into consideration that Jaguar has tried several conventions for identifying trim levels over the past decade. Both the 2.0L and 3.0L engines offer two levels of performance, with the Supercharged moniker usually adding an extra 50 hp. When you slip into the cockpit, you are treated to a wealth of upscale touches such as leather seating surfaces, an exciting surround sound system and a driver memory system. However, it's when you put it through its paces that its athletic heritage shines delivering a ride worthy of its name.

Q: Which Jaguar XF is the fastest?

A: The Jaguar XFR (2009-2015) was an absolute beast encased in the iconic elegance of a Jaguar. The regular production run 5.0L V8 has a top speed of 155 mph and is able to achieve 60 mph in just 4.7 seconds.

Q: What wheel drive is a Jaguar XF?

A: All models of the Jaguar XF are rear-wheel drive, whether you are talking the Sedan or Sportbrake. Once you step up to the 3.0L engine package, all-wheel drive is offered.

Q: Where is Jaguar XF built?

A: As of 2008, it is built at the Jaguar Land Rover factory in Castle Bromwich in Birmingham, England.

Q: Is Jaguar XF built by Ford motors?

A: No. While Jaguar was owned by Ford through the 1990s and early 2000s, it was sold along with the Land Rover brand to Tata Motors in 2008.

Reviews for Jaguar XF

Wonderful and fun car to drive

Great looking car a definite head turner. Very fun to drive, you definitely feel the power of the 385hp when you step the gas.

- Charles Raglin, 2011 Jaguar XF

Excellent driver's car

It handles like a dream. The car is technically a midsized, family hauler being a "wagon" but thanks to its special suspension and supercharged engine it drives like a sportscar.

- Caren K., 2018 Jaguar XF

Head turner vs the usual Euro luxury sports

Excellent low-mid-high range power. 0-60 is up to par but the real excitement is highway driving. The punch from 90-150+ mph still plants you against your seat.

- Josh Halcomb, 2015 Jaguar XF
