About the 2015 Jeep Renegade
Vehicle Summary
Don’t let the 2015 Jeep Renegade’s small size fool you. This subcompact crossover SUV punches well above its weight in many respects. Not only does it have the classic styling and 4WD capability expected of a Jeep, but it also offers impressive versatility thanks to its height-adjustable cargo floor and 50.8 cu-ft of available cargo space with the rear seats folded. The 2015 Renegade’s Selec-Terrain® Traction Management System lets you fine-tune the SUV’s performance using the Mud, Snow, Sand and, on the Trail Rated® Trailhawk® trim, Rock settings. Two available engine and transmission choices ensure you enjoy excellent performance on and off-road. If you need a vehicle capable of conquering a wide variety of terrain, but also nimble enough to maneuver into tight parking spots and through narrow streets, the 2015 Jeep Renegade is the one to choose.

Generation Overview
The 2015 Jeep Renegade looks like a cuter version of the rough-and-tumble Jeep Wrangler, but the former is actually based on a smaller, FWD platform shared with the Fiat 500L of the same vintage. The subcompact crossover SUV makes good use of its small size by delivering impressive maneuverability, all while maintaining car-like ride and handling. When new, the 2015 Jeep Renegade gave buyers a choice between FWD and 4WD, with the Trailhawk trim a 4WD-only affair. Speaking of the Trailhawk, this off-road-oriented trim enhances the 2015 Renegade’s capabilities through a dedicated off-road suspension with increased suspension height, an enhanced 4WD system with low range and protective skid plates throughout the SUV’s undercarriage.
Aside from the Trailhawk, the 2015 Jeep Renegade also came in Sport, Latitude and Limited trims. Standard fare for the Sport trim includes cloth seats, remote keyless entry, 16-inch steel wheels, a single USB port and a four-speaker audio system featuring a 3.5-inch display. The Latitude trim ditches the 16-inch steelies for 16-inch aluminum alloy wheels while adding cruise control and Uconnect® 5.0 with a five-inch touchscreen display, six speakers and Bluetooth® connectivity. Other features include air conditioning and available SiriusXM® satellite radio.3 You’ll find leather-trimmed seats, dual-zone automatic climate control and heated front seats on the Limited trim. A seven-inch driver information display showing all of the 2015 Jeep Renegade’s vital information also comes standard on this trim, along with 18-inch alloy wheels and an eight-way power driver’s seat.
The Sport and Latitude trims share a 1.4L turbocharged inline-four rated at 160 hp and mated to a six-speed manual transmission. In contrast, the Trailhawk and Limited trims feature the 2.4L “Tigershark” four-cylinder engine with 20 extra hp and a nine-speed automatic transmission. The 2.4L engine offers enough grunt to handle the 2015 Renegade’s 2,000-lb. max towing capacity, when properly equipped.2 Otherwise, both engines provide peppy performance for an already nimble vehicle.
