Generation Overview
The 2016 Kia Forte was released during the middle of the Forte's second generation - a generation that began with the 2014 Forte and continued through the 2018 Forte. When the second-generation Kia Forte first came onto the market as a 2014 model, the all-new Forte featured a new 1.8L four-cylinder engine option, a redesigned interior and exterior, several new standard and available features, and more. In the time between the release of the 2014 Forte and the release of the 2016 Forte, the model changed very little, but remote keyless entry did become a standard feature.
The 2016 Kia Forte comes available in three different trim configurations - LX, EX, and SX. The base LX trim of the 2016 Kia Forte comes equipped with standard features such as Bluetooth® audio streaming, remote keyless entry, a four-speaker audio system, and chrome exhaust tips, while the EX trim includes everything found on the LX trim as well as a rearview camera, a six-speaker audio system, a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, auto on/off headlights, and more. The SX trim of the 2016 Kia Forte, meanwhile, includes everything found on the EX trim as well as a UVO eServices infotainment system, push-button start, a sport-tuned suspension, metal pedals, and more.
Depending on the trim that you choose, the 2016 Kia Forte can be equipped with one of three different engine options. For the LX trim, a 145 hp 1.8L four-cylinder engine is the only available engine option. The EX trim can be equipped with either this engine or a 173 hp 2.0L four-cylinder engine. The SX trim of the 2016 Kia Forte, meanwhile, comes standard with a 201 hp 1.6L turbocharged four-cylinder engine.
Thanks to these three punchy engine options as well as the 2016 Kia Forte's spacious interior and exciting list of standard and available features, the 2016 Kia Forte is an exceptional choice for anyone wanting to purchase a well-rounded used compact car.

Reviews for 2016 Kia Forte
Great Car, Don't buy the 6 Speed Manual
The 6 Speed manual transmission just sucks, it takes all the fun out of driving a manual transmission car. It's a great little car, gets great gas mileage, and would be a blast to drive if it were an automatic, or had a normal 5 speed transmission. Kia really dropped the ball with the 6 speed. I know they did it to improve the gas mileage, but they took all the fun out of driving.
