About the Lexus ES-300h

Vehicle Summary

The Lexus ES-300h is part of the popular Lexus ES line, which debuted in 1989 as a midsize luxury sedan. It wasn't until 1991, however, that the Lexus ES 300 was released—and 2014 when the 300h made its first appearance. Specifically, the ES-300h is the standalone hybrid engine option. Since its release during the ES' sixth generation of production (2014-2018), the ES-300h has been available in two engine configurations: a 2.5L, four-cylinder and electric motor at 200 horsepower and a 2.5L, four-cylinder and electric motor at 215 horsepower for the seventh generation (2019-present).

If you're shopping for a hybrid sedan with seating for five that doesn't skimp on luxury features, the ES-300h is worth a look.

FAQ

Q: Does the Lexus ES come in AWD?

A: No, all versions of the Lexus ES (including the 300h) come only in front-wheel drive configurations.

Q: Where is the Lexus ES-300h made?

A: Since 2015, the Lesus ES-300h has been made in Georgetown, Kentucky. Prior to that, it was made at the Miyata plant in Miyawaka, Japan.

Q: What does Lexus ES mean?

A: The "ES" in the Lexus ES name stands for "Executive Sedan."

Q: What is the difference between the IS and ES in Lexus?

A: The "IS" in the Lexus IS name stands for "Innovative Sedan." Both are offered as luxury midsize sedans, but the ES comes with a more powerful engine (the 2019, for example, offers a standard 3.5L V6 compared to a 2.0L four-cylinder on the 2019 IS). The IS is also a rear-wheel drive vehicle and has less cargo storage space inside. It is also worth noting that the Lexus IS does not come with a hybrid engine option.
