2006 Lexus IS 250Oneil Heslop - Hollywood, FL02/02/2016
Despite the sporty exterior and a willing chassis, the car is not a sports sedan. It's let down by the whimpy engine, an unresponsive throttle and a transmission programmed by someone from the Prius team.
Very comfortable ride, for a small car. no major problems for me yet. Front wheels, a lot of dust brakes. I'm 6'3", so I need a lot of leg room to drive. There is only enough room for a small kid to ride in the back seat behind me. Why does this car have such a big trunk but no space in the back seat? I've been using plus gas, anything higher is a waste of money. Many times, I smell something overheating from the clutch, it has been checked by the dealer, they found nothing.
I love my Lexus
2012 Lexus IS 250Monica M - Woodbridge, VA12/13/2015
Very stylish and quick car. Nice bucket seats and interior design. It's a very compact car, so if you're tall you may lack some leg room. I'm 5'2 so this is perfect for my size. The stereo system is great and the dashboard is fun and interactive. I like that it tells me how many miles I have left in my tank, what my average speed is, what gear I'm in etc.
Gorgeous red droptop. Sporty, crisp handling. Lexus Quality. No complaints!
2010 Lexus IS 250CJ - Las Vegas, NV04/16/2015
The website won't specify this is an IS250C. The C being the most important! I have owned 3 convertibles before this one, all ragtops. There's no comparison. If you are one of the afflicted who must own a sporty droptop (face it, the boring people think we are nuts), then power hardtop is the only way to go.----- I'm not a kid. I've had MANY cars, I knew what I wanted, and I was in no hurry. I'm 6'2" and overweight, so right off the bat I have to rule out many true sports cars - all seemingly made for midgets. If I was 4 inches shorter I would be in an MX-5. This is better looking, more luxurious... but not quite a true sports car. VW EOS was a close second, but I like RWD.
Lexus IS-250 Overview
If you're in the market for an entry-level luxury sedan, this modestly-powered vehicle has precise steering, a high-quality interior, and a variety of high-tech features.
Lexus IS 250 History
Though the Lexus IS line was introduced in 2000, it did not include the IS-250 until 2006 and was introduced alongside the IS-350. The 250 ensured its engineering would stay competitive with a powerful 2.5L V6 engine. Also, the 250 comes equipped with an array of luxurious features and spacious cabin. Though technological changes over the years have been minor, in 2014, the entirely redesigned 250 showcased a completely new interior and exterior.
How It Drives
The Lexus IS-250 features high performance and acceleration with rear-wheel drive to support its turbocharged engine. In addition, the handling and braking are precise with coordinated turning capability. The vehicle handles quite well - the Lexus IS-250 is enjoyable for day-to-day commuting and passenger comfort, though the rear seats may be a bit tight.
Used Lexus IS-250 Value
If you are looking for a highly-styled compact premium sports sedan, the Lexus IS-250 is a worthwhile option in this popular car segment. It competes with the Audi A4, BMW 3-Series, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class as an entry-level sports sedan. As a result of its retractable hardtop, the vehicle provides a quieter ride than its rivals and more protection from inclement weather. Because changes under the hood have been minor, the year is tied to exterior and interior trend.
Lexus IS-250 Standard Features
The Lexus IS-250 offers two engine options: a 2.5L or 2.5L V6 engine. The upscale material, handsome styling, and high-tech interior ensure the vehicle is comfortable and luxurious for both driver and passenger. Also, seat comfort and legroom are generous on this competitive sports sedan.
Luxury cars come in all shapes and sizes, but they are all expected to look good and perform well. One advantage of buying a used luxury car is that you get the luxury look-and-feel that you want at a more affordable price.
