2010 Lexus IS 250Kristy - Shawnee, KS12/17/2014
Soft, delicate leather, the cabin is small, best for small people, accelerates slowly on hills, but accelerates nicely on highway and city streets. Snow/wet mode noticeably takes power. Cooled seats are amazing! DiY oil change, filters. Cabin noise minimal/non-existent. Not completely satisfied with CarMax. I was set on THIS car, which lead to a transfer. They offer an onsite inspection, w/someone at that location to answer questions about the car before it's transferred. I specifically asked if the leather was in good shape and had any obvious dirt/markings. Perfect condition, they said. Upon arrival, the front seats were worn, the stitching was black from dirt, and dirt marks were everywhere! A heads up would have been honorable.
Lexus IS 250 Great Car!
2008 Lexus IS 250adropolis - Los Angeles, CA01/11/2010
When I was shopping for this car, I was debating between the Lexus IS 250, BMW 3 series, and the new 2010 Chevy Camaro. When I drove the Lexus, I was very pleased with the ride and the trunk space was good for the size of the car. The Camaro would have been a fun car, but not practical as it is a 2 door and has a really small trunk.
The Lexus and the Camaro get about the same gas mileage, so that was not a factor except that it was tempting to get the Camaro since it has about 100 more hp.
Between the BMW and the Lexus, they are both really sharp looking cars. I do like the reputation for reliability that Lexus has, so I leaned towards the Japanese vehicle.
I ended up getting a white Lexus IS 250 and have been really pleased. The car is averaging about 27 miles per gallon, but on some of the tanks of gas, I am getting over 30mpg. I love the keyless entry and push button start. I also like how it is next to impossible to lock your keys in the car as it senses when the keys are inside and outside of the car.
As long as the car remains reliable, I am looking forward to many years of enjoyable driving. The only thing that I would change about the car would be to have some more storage in the cabin of the car. The glove box is small and there are limited places to store things. This is not a huge issue as it has encouraged me to keep the car a little more tidy inside.
Overall, the best car that I have owned.
Luxury cars come in all shapes and sizes, but they are all expected to look good and perform well. One advantage of buying a used luxury car is that you get the luxury look-and-feel that you want at a more affordable price.
