Having owned a 94 model, the 2006 just drives so much better, the power is now plentiful with plenty of low end grunt, the shifter is smooth as silk, the ride is much more compliant but still corners as if it is on rails, all due to much better body stiffness and integrity, and the top is so much easier to put up and down; the only flaws would be: the hard plastic trim pieces in the interior can squeak at times, the top can leak with hard rain (a fairly common complaint, but it's stopped since I water proofed the top), for the money, it is hard to beat the Miata for pure driving fun, no matter how hard my day has been, getting in and driving away always gives me a big smile.

Overall a 10 on the fun meter. Not the most comfortable car, not the fastest car and not the quietest car, but it is quick and without a doubt the best handling car on the road. No cruise control offered, lower gas mileage than non-turbo Miatas, no boost gauge, no grill to protect the intercooler and a 6 speed that should be a 5 speed, but none of those matters. Once you strap this car on all you think about is putting it through its paces. The Lava Orange Mica color is radiant. This car is a true roadster.
