FAQ

Q: What kind of fuel efficiency does the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X get?

A: For a truck in the midsize pickup class, the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X gets about average fuel economy. Part of this is due to its standard engine, the largest offered for the vehicle, a 4.0L V6 engine capable of producing 261 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque. That being said, there isn't much difference between the manual transmission and automatic transmission versions, with the 2019 manual transmission version having an EPA estimate of 16 mpg city, 21 mpg highway and 18 mpg combined, while the automatic transmission has a slightly lower EPA estimate of 15 mpg city, 21 mpg highway and 17 mpg combined.1

Q: How many people can the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X seat?

A: With different cab configurations, the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X can seat either four or five people total, with two heated front bucket seats including eight-way adjustment and lumbar support on the driver's side and four-way adjustment on the passenger's side providing a very comfortable ride. The King cab is capable of seating two in the back seat, with two tip-up rear jump seats, while the Crew cab can seat three across a 60/40 split tip-up bench seat.

Q: How much can the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X haul?

A: When properly equipped, the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X is capable of towing up to 6,710 pounds, enough to handle small campers, toy haulers, boats and cargo trailers with relatively ease.2 At the same time, the non-skid rugged spray-on bedliner, cargo lock-down features and easy-to-move heavy-duty forged aluminum cleats keep your load in place, with a 59.5-inch bed on the Crew cab and 73.3-inch bed on the King cab easily accommodating payloads of up to 1,190 pounds.

Q: What kind of powertrain options does the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X have available?

A: As an off-road capable vehicle, it's not surprising that the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X is only available in four-wheel drive with a powerful 4.0L V6 engine capable of generating 261 hp and 281 lb-ft of torque. However, it is available in a six-speed manual-transmission version in the King cab, with the five-speed automatic-transmission available for both the King and Crew cab configurations. Hill start assist and hill descent control are standard, making it easier to keep going even with a heavy load.

Q: What makes the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X a good farm vehicle?

A: With towing capability well in the range of handling a small stock trailer or grain wagon, plenty of off-road capability and a strong powertrain that helps you get the job done, the Nissan Frontier PRO-4X provides plenty of value for small farms. Available bed cargo-handling configurations including five channels for the forged-aluminum cargo cleats, three different bed sizes and easy flip-up rear seats in both the King and Crew cabs make it easy to quickly reconfigure your PRO-4X's interior space for hauling grain in bad weather, kids of all types to the farmer's market or the whole family across town for the next 4H meeting.

1Fuel economy figures are based on EPA estimates for when vehicle sold as new. Fuel economy may vary for reasons like driving conditions and vehicle history. Unless specified, figures are for vehicles equipped with an automatic transmission. See fueleconomy.gov.

2Various factors may impact towing capacity, including weight of passengers, cargo, and options/accessories.

I have been looking around for one year to find myself a new truck. I did all my homework and said I wanted a nissan because I had one in the past. I was vary happy with my old one. Now looking only up to 500 miles for a truck and did not find anything, so I expanded my search for anywere in the U,S. and I located one nissan frontier in nevada. All the pictures looked great and we spoke to a sales consultant in navada and he said it was in excellant condition and It was the look, I was lookinf for in a truck. So I jump on it and had the truck shipped to florida.I recieved the truck in two weeks and she was everything I was looking for and no complaints. She rides great and I love the look of my nissan frontier.Nissan has not let me down ever.
