Fuel efficient, road hugging, spacious, nice amenities and very comfortable. With its 6-speed switchable automatic/manual transmission its at home on the highway as on two lane windey mountain roads -- a real pleasure to drive; I thought I would miss the 5-speed of my Scion xA but the steering wheel mounted paddle shifters fill in just fine. My driving is 50/50 Interstate and surface and my Outback consistently gets around 30mpg. With the rear seats lowered it has more cargo area than my son's Jeep Grand Cherokee.
Excellent vehicle for the price. Rated number #1 in safety.

If you are the "on the go" type of person, then there is no stopping you. The Outback performs it's best in snow. With a feel and look of a luxury cross over. Plenty of back seat space and leg room. Ample trunk space and more when seats fold down. Number one in safety. Use regular gas. Back up camera and satellite radio. Worth a look.
Have never owned a more solid car that was made so well. Bought it with 33000 miles and it felt like a new car. Went on vacation in the mountains and the 2.5 4 cylinder had plenty of power. Never had a car made with so many "common sense" features. Love it!
