Second generation Acura NSX
After more than a decade’s absence, the NSX made a headline-grabbing return to the Acura lineup beginning with the 2017 model year. The all-new NSX came bristling with hybrid technology and could streak from zero to 60 mph in about 3.1 seconds. Having standard all-wheel drive meant playtime didn’t have to end when the weather soured, and driver-selectable drive modes meant the NSX could be tuned for a variety of driving conditions. One of these, known as Quiet mode, meant the NSX could be driven entirely on electric power (for very short periods of time).
In the final year of production, the NSX was available only in Type S trim. The Type S increased output, from 573 to 600 horsepower, and Acura further fine-tuned the suspension and all-wheel-drive system. While overall performance couldn’t be faulted, the NSX was roundly criticized for having an outdated infotainment system—especially for a car with a six-figure price when new—a tiny 4.4-cubic-foot trunk located behind the engine bay, and rather pudgy curb weight.
