5 reasons to buy the 2018 Acura RLX
1. Feature list packed with standard equipment
Perusing the lengthy feature list, you may be wondering what trim levels contain which specific features. Here’s the thing, there aren’t any trim levels. The only separation of features comes in your choice of powertrain. What that means is the vast majority of kit on that feature list actually comes standard on any 2018 RLX model. That includes a dual-screen infotainment system, automatic windshield wipers, and heated front seats.
2. Capacious cabin with generous legroom
The 2018 RLX offers seating for five, and with 42.3 inches of front seat legroom and 38.8 inches of rear seat legroom, even a full complement of passengers will have room to relax. As for standard features, creature comforts like tri-zone automatic climate control, leather upholstery, and a 14-speaker sound system with Bluetooth® connectivity and smartphone integration are present in every 2018 Acura RLX.
3. Standard engine is ideal for daily driving
The 2018 Acura RLX has two engine options, with both offering an appealing balance of power and versatility. Starting with the base engine, it’s a 3.5L V6 producing 310 horsepower and 272 lb-ft of torque, paired with a new-for-2018 ten-speed automatic transmission. This combination is ideal for everyday driving, especially when you consider how thrifty it is. This engine and transmission combo is capable of achieving an EPA-estimated 29 mpg on the highway.
4. Sport Hybrid model adds AWD
While the Sport Hybrid model offers the same 3.5L V6 as the base model, the difference comes in the form of three electric motors — one integrated into the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission, and the other two driving the rear wheels. Not only do you get a boost in horsepower, up to 377 horsepower, but the all-wheel-drive platform also makes for sharper handling. Best of all, this powertrain can achieve an EPA-estimated 28 mpg combined and 29 mpg on the highway.
5. Tech and driver convenience equipment in abundance
If you are looking for a stress-free driving experience, the 2018 Acura RLX comes equipped with the AcuraWatch™ suite of driver convenience technologies to make every journey as serene as possible. This suite includes forward collision mitigation with automatic emergency braking, lane departure and road departure intervention, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert. The Sport Hybrid model has a few extra gadgets including front and rear parking sensors and a surround-view camera system for parking in tight spaces.
