5 reasons to buy the 2019 BMW M550
1. Great standard features
The 2019 M550 is at the top of the 5-Series range and shows. It has loads of comfort and convenience features, including standard leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-folding and heated mirrors, a sunroof, a power trunk lid, and automatic wipers, to name a few. Comfort comes standard on the 2019 M550.
2. Loads of power
Whether it is a highway merge or your favorite back road, the M550 has power to spare. The 2019 M550i has a turbocharged 4.4L V8 engine, making 456 horsepower and 480 lb-ft of torque. Also, BMW's all-wheel-drive system and an eight-speed automatic transmission are both standard. That all adds up to a 0-60 of just under four seconds (according to the manufacturer, when new).
3. Great tech
For the 2019 model year, Apple CarPlay® integration is now standard, and the whole system is controlled through BMW's iDrive® infotainment interface. The nicely sized 10.2-inch touchscreen display includes standard navigation, voice controls, and more. The M550 also has a host of driver aids like forward collision warning and mitigation, lane departure warning, and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert.
4. Impressive handling
It's great to have a big turbocharged V8, but the 2019 M550 delivers great handling too. Your favorite back road beckons, and you can enjoy it with the standard adaptive suspension with electronically controlled dampers, upgraded brakes (compared to standard 5 Series models), and trim-specific bodywork with a rear spoiler. Inside, you'll get sports seats and an M Sport steering wheel to round out the experience.
5. Ramp up the features
Use the features filter on our site to dial in the specific options you are looking for. The Convenience package includes a power trunk lid, keyless ignition and entry, and heated front seats.
