5 reasons to buy the 2020 BMW M550
1. V8 power
Having a V8 under the hood is excellent, but BMW engineers also added an extra boost with a turbocharger. The result is an astounding 523 horsepower and 553 lb-ft of torque. You'll get a standard all-wheel-drive system and an eight-speed automatic to round out the fabulous powertrain. That kind of power will get you to 60 mph in around 3.6 seconds (according to the manufacturer, when new).
2. Standard luxury
The 2020 M550 is top of the food chain in the 5 Series lineup and this shows on the standard features and options list. Standard features include leather upholstery, dual-zone automatic climate control, power-folding and heated mirrors, a sunroof, a power trunk lid, and automatic wipers. So, no matter which M550 you end up with from our lots, you will be ensconced in luxury.
3. Great tech too
The standard features list continues to impress in the technology realm as well. The 2020 M550 gets a great set of standard driver aids like forward collision warning and mitigation, lane departure warning, and a blind-spot monitor with rear cross-traffic alert. Your tech is controlled via a great 10.2-inch touchscreen display with standard Apple CarPlay® integration, a navigation system, and cool gesture and voice controls.
4. Lengthy options list
Keep an eye out for some of BMW's great packages and options. Check out the Convenience package, which features a power trunk lid, keyless ignition and entry, and heated front seats. The Premium package has a head-up display and wireless phone charging, while the Executive package adds options like soft-close automatic doors, a dynamic digital instrument cluster, and power sunshades for rear passengers.
5. Other performance upgrades
The 2020 M550 is more than just a big engine. Standard on all M550s is adaptive suspension with electronically controlled dampers, upgraded brakes, and trim-specific bodywork with a rear spoiler. The interior also gets a boost with trim-specific sports seats and an M Sport steering wheel. This makes the M550 a great car if you love a spirited weekend drive through windy country back roads.
