Compact luxury in a capable package
The 2024 BMW X1 offers a blend of luxury and agility, ideal for city driving and comfortable long journeys. It’s a compact SUV with a sleek silhouette and plenty of luxury tech throughout. Even though it’s BMW’s smallest SUV, there’s still plenty of space inside for your crew and all their stuff — with 26 cu-ft of space in the trunk. The third generation debuted in 2023 and there are a couple of small upgrades for 2024 alongside a new M35i xDrive model.

5 reasons to buy the 2024 BMW X1
1. Agile X1 M35i xDrive
New for 2024 is the M35i xDrive model. It has the same 2.0L four-cylinder engine as the base model but it’s been returned to deliver 312 hp and 295 lb-ft of torque. Alongside the extra power, the 2024 M35i xDrive also has standard all-wheel drive, 19-inch wheels, upgraded brakes, and distinctive blue calipers. What really makes it special, though, is the adaptive suspension that enhances stability and comfort. Additional features on this model include a 12-speaker Harmon Kardon® sound system and a wireless charging pad.
2. Luxurious cabin
BMW does luxury well and no matter which trim of the 2014 X1 you choose, you’ll be treated to a comfortable cabin with plush synthetic leather seats. The configurable ambient lighting allows you to fit the vibe of X1 to your current mood while Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity provide the soundtrack. There’s also a standard navigation system, a digital instrument panel, and dual-zone automatic climate control.
3. Powertrain performance
The standard XDrive 28i trim is powered by a 241-hp 2.0L turbo engine. All-wheel drive is standard, too, which makes driving in slick conditions much easier. This engine will manage an EPA-estimated 28 mpg combined, while the more powerful 312-hp M35i model will get 26 mpg combined.
Both engines route power through a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.4. Advanced driver-assistance features
If you regularly do long drives and want peace of mind behind the wheel, you’ll be pleased to see that the 2024 X1 has plenty of driver-assistance features as standard. There’s forward collision warning with automatic braking, blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, lane departure warning, and more. The standard parking sensors and rearview camera are especially handy for those tricky parking maneuvers in tight garages. If you want more, look out for the Active Driving Assistant Pro package, which adds adaptive cruise control, a lane-centering feature, and a hands-free driving system that works at low speeds.
5. Innovative infotainment system
BMW’s iDrive infotainment system doesn’t disappoint. It’s easy to use with a 10.7-inch touchscreen as standard. With wireless smartphone connectivity through Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, it’s easy to stay connected to your favorite music and podcasts or make hands-free calls.
