2025 Cadillac XT6 review

The Cadillac XT6 is a full-size three-row crossover SUV that's differentiated from the Escalade by its chassis platform. Where the Escalade uses a truck-based body-on-frame chassis, the XT6 uses a unibody platform similar to a smaller SUV or passenger car. Also, where the Escalade is likely to be equipped with a V8 engine, the XT6 is powered by a V6 or four-cylinder engine, paired with an automatic transmission and the buyer’s choice of front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. If you choose all-wheel drive, note that the XT6 system is not automatic; all-wheel drive must be engaged by the driver.

First generation Cadillac XT6

The Cadillac XT6 is a full-size crossover SUV powered by a V6 or four-cylinder engine with an automatic transmission and front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive. It offers seating for up to seven passengers in three rows, as well as ample cargo space. With its V6, the XT6 can tow up to 4,000 pounds when properly equipped.

Inside, buyers can opt for second-row captain’s chairs instead of a traditional bench seat. This option limits seating to six passengers but improves comfort. The XT6 offers large square doors and a low point of entry, making access to the second and third rows easy.

The XT6 also offers a touchscreen infotainment system with a rotary control dial on the console. Smartphone integration is standard with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, and a wireless charging pad and high-performance Bose® audio system are also available.
