Chevrolet Colorado

The third-generation Colorado arrived in 2023 with significant updates over its predecessor. With an aggressive look in line with its larger Silverado sibling, as well as a vastly improved interior, the Colorado was a more substantial offering among midsize trucks. Inside the upscale cabin, the Colorado features an 11.3-inch touchscreen display running a Google-based infotainment system and an 11-inch digital gauge cluster. Wireless Android Auto™/Apple CarPlay® come standard on all trims.

All variants of the Colorado were fitted with a 2.7-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine mated to an eight-speed automatic, but power ranged from 237 horsepower to 310 horsepower, depending on the trim level. In 2025, the 310-horsepower variant became standard on all trims. While all Colorados are available with four-wheel drive, those looking for strong off-road capability can opt for the top-level ZR2 equipped with off-road tires, skid plates, and almost 11 inches of ground clearance.

The Colorado returned to the market in 2015 after a three-year hiatus with a sleeker, more modern look and improved capability. Larger than its predecessor, the second-generation Colorado was available with rear- or four-wheel drive in extended and crew-cab configurations (the regular cab was discontinued). A 4.2-inch display was standard at launch; however, in 2018, it was upgraded to a seven-inch display with Android Auto™ and Apple CarPlay®. An eight-inch screen was available. 

Two engines were initially available: a fuel-efficient 2.5-liter four-cylinder and a more powerful 3.6-liter V6. A six-speed manual gearbox was standard with a six-speed automatic available (Chevrolet upgraded it to an eight-speed automatic in 2017). The Colorado could tow up to 7,000 pounds with the V6 engine under the hood; however, in 2016, Chevy added a 2.8-liter Duramax diesel option, which upped towing capability to 7,700 pounds,
