The Kia Niro lineup is all new for the 2023 model year and would make a great vehicle for both long and short commutes. Both the EX and SX Touring trims use the same 180-hp 1.6L engine and electric drive system allowing you to travel up to 33 miles on electric power on a full charge and up to 510 miles on a full tank of gas and a full charge. Range figures are based on EPA estimates for when vehicle sold as new and assume a full battery charge. Range will vary based on things like battery age, vehicle condition and history, driving and charging habits, accessory use, and driving conditions. Battery capacity may decrease with time and use. See fueleconomy.gov for more info. EX models feature heated power seats, a power liftgate, and blind-spot monitors. SX Touring adds comforts like memory settings for the driver’s seat and ventilated front seats to level up your commute.
If you like to be pampered on your commute, Kia has you covered. The seats are wrapped in fabric and SynTex leather to keep you comfortable no matter the situation. The available heated and ventilated front seats on the 2023 Kia Niro Plug-in Hybrid can help you unwind as you manage traffic. The standard 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen removes the complexity of finding the right song for the trip thanks to wired Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity.
The Niro Plug-in Hybrid has made the list of standard features a standout. Standard heated front seats keep you comfortable and warm. Parking sensors and blind-spot monitors aid visibility in parking lots and on the highway, while auto rain-sensing windshield wipers help keep the windshield clear when the weather isn’t. The dual-zone climate controls mean that you and your front passenger can set your temperature without bothering the other, and rear A/C vents help keep the rear seat passengers comfortable too.
Front-seat passengers are not the only ones who get pampered in the Kia Niro. With seating for up to five passengers, you can pamper your friends and family too. Thanks to the A/C vents on the back of the center console, fold-down center armrest with cupholders, available heated outboard seats, and rear legroom of 39.8 inches, there is no bad seat in the Niro.
Kia thought of you when designing the rear cargo compartment of the Niro Plug-in Hybrid. Starting with the standard power liftgate, or the optional Smart Power hands-free liftgate, getting into the back of the Niro is simple. Kia gives you options for storing items as well, with the dual-level cargo floor you can stash some items in the hidden underfloor storage down around the battery pack while also having the full cargo area above. Fold down the 60/40 split rear seat to open the cargo area from 19.4 cu-ft to 54.6 cu-ft.
The plug-in hybrid powertrain of the Kia Niro gives you plenty of options for powering your ride. On a full charge, the EPA estimates it'll get 33 miles of electric range before needing to use the 1.6L gasoline engine.
