5 reasons to buy the 2024 Kia Niro
1. Fun design with optional dual-tone paint
Kia designers have been pushing the limits of conventional design and the 2024 Kia Niro is proof. What is at its core a tall wagon or hatchback more resembles a futuristic SUV or sporty crossover. SX and SX Touring trims have an optional dual-tone paint combination that includes a black roof and “Aeroblade” side panel which contrasts against the Cityscape Green or Mineral Blue paint of the rest of the vehicle. Standard LED daytime running lights give the front of the Niro a distinct and futuristic look.
2. Parallel hybrid powertrain adds miles
The hybrid powertrain in the Kia Niro is standard across all trims. With a 1.6L four-cylinder gas engine and an electric motor powering the front wheels, this is a practical and versatile setup. Kia engineers have worked the hybrid powertrain and six-speed dual-clutch transmission in such a way that there is near seamless integration of gas and electric power, while still achieving up to an EPA-estimated 49 mpg combined.
3. Comfortable and spacious interior
With all the miles you can potentially log on a single tank of fuel, you'll want a spacious and comfortable interior. The cabin makes the Kia Niro feel much bigger than it is thanks to its 41.5 inches of front-seat legroom. All models are equipped with dual-zone climate controls. LX models come with cloth seats, while EX and EX Touring models have heated cloth and SynTex leatherette seating. Look out for the SX and SX Touring trims to get perforated and ventilated SynTex seats and a heated steering wheel with two-person driver’s seat memory functions.
4. Cargo space
Kia thought of you when designing the rear cargo space of the Niro by giving you options for storing items with the available dual-level cargo floor. On EX trims and above, you can stash smaller items in the hidden underfloor storage or drop the rear cargo floor lower to accommodate taller items. Fold down the 60/40 split rear seat to open the cargo area from 22.8 cu-ft to 63.7 cu-ft.
5. Upgraded technology
LX trims feature an eight-inch touchscreen infotainment system, but EX trims and above treat you to a larger 10.25-inch screen. Both systems utilize wired Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ connectivity. SX and SX Touring trims have a standard seven-speaker Harman Kardon® premium sound system for blasting tunes on a long drive. EX trims and above come standard with a wireless phone charging pad and all trims come standard with 5 USB ports for charging devices on the go.
