The 2024 Lexus NX 350h offers great gas mileage, refinement, and value
The Lexus NX 350h is a luxury compact hybrid SUV that sits between the smaller Lexus UX and the larger Lexus RX. It pairs a four-cylinder gas engine and a dual-electric motor that's good for a combined 239 horsepower. Also available are the non-hybrid NX 250 and NX 350 models, plus the plug-in hybrid NX 450h+, all of which are reviewed separately.
The big draw of this NX's hybrid engine is its stellar fuel economy, with an EPA-estimated 39 mpg combined. Fuel economy figures are based on EPA estimates for when vehicle sold as new. Actual mileage will vary based on things like battery age, vehicle condition and history, driving and charging habits, accessory use, and driving conditions. Battery capacity may decrease with time and use. See fueleconomy.gov for more info. As a result, the NX 350h has few direct competitors. Most other luxury compact SUVs, such as the BMW X3 or Mercedes-Benz GLC, offer either mild hybrid options that provide less electrical assistance, or plug-in hybrid variants that are usually more expensive. Overall, the NX 350h is a good candidate for those in search of a luxurious and fuel-efficient small SUV.
The 2024 Lexus NX 350h sees no major changes this year, with only a few updates to the interior colors, adding color-keyed elements to the front and rear door panels.

What We Like
Improved infotainment: Edmunds' test vehicle was equipped with the available 14-inch touchscreen. The crisp graphics are easy to read, and the touchscreen responds quickly to inputs. The software is fairly menu-intensive, however, so it might involve a slight learning curve.
Numerous driver aids: Lexus' suite of driver aids comes standard and includes adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assistance, adaptive headlights, blind-spot warning, and rear cross-traffic alert. Parking sensors and an enhanced 360-degree backup camera are available on Premium and Luxury trim levels.
Visibility: The NX 350h is easy to see out of from the front and sides. Its swoopy rear styling does cut into visibility somewhat when glancing over the shoulder, but the side mirrors are big enough to help minimize blind spots. The rear camera resolution is clear and the view is even better on the larger center screen.
What Needs Improvement
Cargo space: With 22.7 cubic feet behind the rear seats, the NX 350h doesn't offer as much cargo capacity as many of its rivals. The BMW X3, for example, offers 28.7 cubic feet and the Acura RDX has 29.5 cubic feet. That said, the cargo area for the NX 350h is wide and free of any bulges, making it easy to load large or bulky objects.
