2022 Ram Promaster 2500 review

1. Multiple sizes 

The cargo van might seem like a practical box on wheels, but Ram ensured the Promaster 2500 could cater to a variety of commercial needs. The 2022 Promaster 2500 comes in two widths, ranging from 136 inches (standard models) to 159 inches (wide wheelbase models); and two heights, ranging from 66 inches (standard roof) to 77 inches (high roof). That kind of variety equates to a wide range of cargo space, from 303 cu-ft to a max of 420 cu-ft.  

2. Sophisticated technology 

The first thing you'll notice from the captain's chair is the command center on the 2022 Ram Promaster 2500. Gone is the five-inch screen seen on older models, instead there's a new seven-inch touchscreen color display as standard. New upgraded UConnect^® software offers Apple CarPlay^® and Android Auto^™ integration, and dual smartphone Bluetooth^® connectivity—all with hands-free steering wheel-mounted control. If you still want to go bigger, look out for models with a 10.1-inch display. 

3. Immersive driver aids 

The 2022 Ram Promaster 2500 can be found with a spectrum of state-of-the-art driver aids and perks. New for 2022 include smart key, automated cruise control, and parking sensors. There are also automatic high beams and cornering foglamps upfront, along with blindspot monitoring, forward collision warning, and intelligent speed assist. This is a sophisticated setup for a seemingly standard commercial cargo van that can support you through all aspects of a drive.  

4. Practical engine 

Under the hood of the 2022 Ram Promaster 2500 is a 3.6L Pentastar^® 280-horsepower V6 engine— paired with a nine-speed automatic gearbox. The transmission ensures smooth, quick transitions. Together, you'll get 260 lb-ft of torque and an estimated 6,800 lbs of towing capacity when properly equipped.

5. Front-wheel drive 

Ram chose to fit the 2022 Promaster 2500 with front-wheel drive for a reason: functionality. It was thinking about you or your drivers loading and unloading a cargo van and how to make that process as smooth and seamless as possible. By locating all the components beneath the cab upfront, the Promaster 2500 reduces the cargo-load-floor height and step-in height. That means ergonomic ease as you move in and out and improved traction with all the weight on those front wheels.
