2023 Ram Promaster 2500 review

1. Updated exterior 

The 2023 Ram Promaster 2500 has a refreshed front fascia and grille. This softens the boxiness of the cargo van with a smooth-styled face. But the redesign is more than aesthetics. Included as standard are quad-halogen reflector headlamps to make driving back from the night shift a breeze. These lamps have also been shifted into a wider position, which puts them out of the low-speed collision zone — handy if the front bumper ends up getting crunched.  

2. Multiple configurations 

From the outside, you might think a cargo van is a simple one-size-fits-all box. Ram would likely disagree. For the 2023 Promaster 2500, Ram offers multiple wheelbases (short and wide), and multiple heights (standard and high). That kind of variety equates to a wide range of cargo space, from 303 cu-ft at the low end to a max of 420 cu-ft. One important consideration to note is that the smaller model can actually handle a slightly higher estimated payload of 4,260 lbs. 

3. Front-wheel drive 

The 2023 Promaster 2500 comes fitted with front-wheel drive because it makes sense on a cargo van. By positioning all the components upfront beneath the cab, the Promaster 2500 reduces the cargo-load-floor height and step-in height, which in turn improves the ergonomics of maneuvering in and out of the van. Such a detailed understanding of functionality is a testament to Ram's understanding of its customers. 

4. Immersive technology 

Up in the captain's chair of the 2023 Ram Promaster 2500, you'll notice the seven-inch color touchscreen control center. Programmed with UConnect^® software, the Promaster 2500 arrives with Apple CarPlay^® and Android Auto^™ integration, and dual smartphone Bluetooth^® connectivity as standard equipment. Also available on select trims are a 10.1-inch display, USB port, 12-volt charging socket, and wireless charging pad. 

5. Full-spectrum driver aids 

There are a variety of state-of-the-art driver aids and perks to consider for the 2023 Ram Promaster 2500. Smart key, automated cruise control, and intelligent speed assist should support all steps of the driving experience. Blind spot monitoring, forward collision warning, and drowsy-driver detection are also available features. And crosswind assist should aid you in staying on course in particularly windy conditions.
