5 reasons to buy the 2015 Toyota Avalon
1. Powerful engine
Under the hood of the 2015 Toyota Avalon is a 3.5L six-cylinder gas engine with 268 hp. A smooth performer, the 248 lb-ft of torque is ample for everyday driving, and whether you’re hitting the highway for a weekend getaway or dropping the kids off for a sleepover, there is plenty of pace. The engine is frugal, too. All 2015 Avalon trims achieve an EPA-estimated 24 mpg combined.
2. An unruffled drive
New for 2015, every Toyota Avalon trim has paddle shifters mounted on the steering wheel as standard, giving you additional control of the six-speed automatic transmission on those more involving drives. The 2015 Avalon isn’t the sportiest large sedan to drive, but it is easy, with a stable on-road feel. The acoustic noise-reducing windshield, and front side windows keep out distracting noises, creating a peaceful haven for you and your traveling companions.
3. Lots of space
If you’re driving solo on the daily commute, you’ll appreciate the Avalon’s storage cubbies dotted around the cabin. If you’re packing all the kids’ gear for summer camp, you’ll appreciate the 16 cu-ft of trunk space. But the 2015 Avalon isn’t just about everyone’s stuff – it has room for people, too. There is 42.1 inches of front seat legroom, with 58.2 inches of shoulder room. In the back, adults will be equally happy with 39.2 inches of rear legroom and 57.0 inches of shoulder room. For child seats, there are LATCH tether anchors on the rear seats, with lower anchors on the outboard pair.
4. Magic multimedia
The multimedia technology onboard the 2015 Toyota Avalon has lots of features for gadget lovers. The XLE and XLE Premium trims have a 6.1-inch color touchscreen audio system with eight speakers, a USB port, HD Radio®, and wireless Bluetooth® connectivity. Choose the XLE Touring or XLE Touring Sport Edition trims for the Toyota Entune™ App Suite system that includes additional smartphone app integration and connected services, and a navigation system with a seven-inch display.
The Limited trim has a JBL® audio system. Updates to Entune™ for 2015 include swipe capability and a cache radio.5. Sleek special edition
The Toyota Avalon’s neat four-door silhouette and almost coupe-like appearance are used to good effect with the special Avalon XLE Touring Sport Edition trim. Only available in 2015, the Attitude Black paint, 18-inch black-painted and machine-finished alloy wheels, “Touring Sport Edition” front fender badges, and xenon headlights will certainly get you noticed in the office parking lot. You’ll notice the aluminum sill plates, dark blue dashboard accents, black perforated leather seats with dark blue stitching, and blue-edged floor mats.
