The 2025 Toyota GR Supra remains the highest-performance model in the Japanese car company’s lineup. The four-cylinder turbo engine was dropped for the current model year, leaving only the more powerful turbocharged six-cylinder offering 382 horsepower. An eight-speed automatic transmission is standard, but customers can opt for the engaging six-speed manual gearbox. Both the base and Premium trims are well equipped, though the infotainment system is older and less advanced than in other Toyotas. You’ll need to upgrade to a higher trim or an available package to get features like full leather upholstery, adaptive cruise control, reverse automatic braking, and wireless Apple CarPlay®.

Fifth generation Toyota Supra

After a hiatus that lasted more than 20 years, the legendary Supra returned to the Toyota lineup. The new fifth-generation GR Supra resulted from a partnership between Toyota and BMW, and it shares many of its components with the BMW Z4. Like the original, the new GR Supra has all the proper attributes of a sports car: two seats, a powerful engine, and rear-wheel drive. The only thing it was missing was a manual gearbox.

The new GR Supra came to market in 2020 with a BMW-sourced 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder engine delivering 355 horsepower and a claimed 0-60 mph time of 4.1 seconds. One year later, output was bumped up to 382 horsepower, and the less expensive GR Supra 2.0 joined the lineup with a turbocharged four-cylinder engine. In 2023, a much-anticipated manual gearbox became available.

The cabin features two comfortable seats with effective lateral support during sporty driving, and while the infotainment system is intuitive overall, it's an outdated interface compared to the systems in the rest of the Toyota lineup.
