Generation Overview

The 2017 Cadillac XT5 debuted in 2017 as the automaker's new compact luxury crossover SUV, replacing the Cadillac SRX while offering upgraded tech features and a lightweight frame.

Cadillac XT5 Engine Options

For the 2017-2019 model years, every XT5 receives a standard 3.6L V6 engine at 310 hp, which is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive is standard on every trim except the Platinum, which comes standard with all-wheel drive. If you want the extra traction of all-wheel drive, it is optional on all trims but the base.

Beginning in 2020, the standard engine is a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder at 237 hp, whereas the existing V6 is outfitted on this model year's new Sport trim. The 2020 Sport trim also comes with all-wheel drive.

Cadillac XT5 Storage Space

Despite its classification as a compact crossover, the first-generation XT5 offers a lot of practical storage space. There's a full 30 cubic feet behind the rear row, and the rear seats fold completely flat to extend cargo storage up to 63 cubic feet across every model year. For the 2020 model, an adjustable hatch height is also standard to make for easier loading and unloading.
