The 2016 Chevrolet Corvette sits in the middle of the production of the C7 platform for this luxury sports car. Also known as the seventh generation, the front-engine design with rear-wheel drive was manufactured from MY 2014 to 2019. The 2016 year included the coupe and convertible body styles with three performance configurations available. The Stingray is loaded with the 6.2L LT1 V8 engine producing 455 hp, a seven-speed manual transmission with rev matching, and four-piston caliper brakes. The Z51 performance package can be added to the Stingray and earns an extra five hp, has larger front brake rotors, and increases the diameter of the shocks. The Z06 pumps up your pulse with the supercharged 6.2L LT4 V8 engine and its 650 hp, six-piston brake calipers, slotted brake rotors, and a balanced 50/50 weight distribution.
There are three trim levels for the Stingray and Z06 listed as 1LT, 2LT, 3LT, 1LZ, 2LZ, and 3LZ. You will be cruising in style in the 1LT with its leather-trimmed sport seats, automatic climate controls, and quad exhaust tips. The 2LT adds a color Head Up display with G-meter, Bose® surround sound, and driver memory. Track your lap times in the 3LT using its performance data recorder, navigation system, and a leather-wrapped console. Put the pedal down on the 1LZ and magnetic selective ride control, four-inch polished exhaust tips, and all-speed traction control helps you conquer the track with confidence. Heated and ventilated seats, a front curb parking camera, and unique Z06 seat badging elevate your driving experience in the 2LZ. Along with the performance date recorder in the 3LZ, you will also find a microfiber trim package and Napa leather seat inserts.
Will the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette keep you connected and entertained during the drive out to the golf course? Every vehicle includes the eight-inch color touchscreen with a USB port and Bluetooth® technology. It supports Apple CarPlay®, Siri EyesFree®, and the Gracenote® database. There is an available Wi-Fi hotspot that requires activation, should you want to broadcast your laps around the track with a live feed and dash-mounted camera.1
1Wi-Fi hotspots require a data plan to activate and may also require a compatible device. See the owner’s manual or manufacturer website for more information.
Reviews for 2016 Chevrolet Corvette
Sporty ride @ a reasonable price.
I am a retired insurance adjuster with an associates degree in automotive techniques and management. I also have a degree in secondary education. This car is designed for a young people as well as seasoned person like myself. My wife loves the car and she can speed shift with the best!!!
- Cabin Noise: Looks and American muscle @ a resonable price!
Z06 - Unbelievable performance and value!
The car offers higher performance levels than almost anything on the road PLUS ample room for enough luggage or groceries to make it a daily driver. Comfortable, but decidedly athletic and ungodly fast!
- Power: Most smiles per gallon I’ve ever had!
- Value: Comparable performance costs two or three times as much. Amazing value!!
- Braking: Speed is not fun unless the brakes are awesome, and these are! Enough braking power to stop the car faster than anything on the road!
- Cabin Noise: The car is all about performance and driving, not cabin isolation, so don’t expect Lexus-levels of silence.
- Fuel Economy: The power is intoxicating, so extreme restraint must be exercised to get even decent mileage, but cruising on the freeway will yield close to 30 mpg!
- Dashboard: It was quite the presentation when it was launched in 2014, but it’s getting a bit dated, especially the home screen of the infotainment system. Everything is there, it just lacks some of the refinement of its competition.
nothing but issues, unsafe to drive
I would not recommend this vehicle due to how unreliable and unsafe it has been. Has broken down on the free way in the middle of the night 3 times on me and after having taken it to carmax to get repaired the vehicle was returned with the same issues.
- Technology and Entertainment: vehicle has excellent features.
- Reliability: very unreliable, broken down 3 times in less than 2 months.
- Value: vehicle was advertised as a good reliable vehicle and priced as such, unfortunately have had nothing but issues.
