Generation Overview

Ever since its official launch in 1998 as the successor to the C/K Series of pickups, the Chevrolet Silverado has been one of the best-selling vehicles in the United States. The 2014 model represents the first year of the third-generation Silverado series, featuring a significant exterior and interior redesign as well as the use of roll-formed steel for the truck bed. The full-size pickup also uses three engines from the EcoTec3 family: a 4.3L V6 rated at 285 hp, a 5.3L V8 with 355 hp and a 6.2L V8 rated at 420 hp.

The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 comes available in seven trims: the basic 1WT and 2WT trims, the mid-level LT and LT Z71 trims, upper-tier LTZ and LTZ Z71 trims and the top-tier High Country trim. The Z71 trims are easily denoted by the prominent “Z71” badge on the front grille and “Z71” graphic on the truck bed. The Z71 adds several features to enhance its off-road abilities, including an automatic locking rear differential, monotube Rancho® shocks and underbody shielding to protect the transfer case from damage.

The High Country represents the pinnacle of the 2014 Silverado 1500 lineup, offering high-end luxury features such as exclusive saddle-colored leather seats with “High Country” embossed headrests and a Bose® premium audio system with up to seven speakers. Attractive 20-inch signature chrome wheels and a distinctive front grille help visually distinguish the High Country from other trims.

Jessica Wheeler is the most wonderful person!!

PROS: It's decent on gas mileage. It's a truck, so that's great being able to transport whatever is needed. Has sensors for drifting out if the lane, as well as front and rear sensors for parking. AC and heating seats, heating steering wheel. Blinkers built in mirrors. CONS: Electrical issues with the backup camera. Headlights are not bright, as far as the distance ahead of the vehicle.

Pros

  • Technology and Entertainment:

Great truck once you bypass the economy mode

Great running and looking truck I got a odb plug in to keep the truck in v8 mode, this will extend the life of the motor. Next up is a better air intake, and an exhaust.

Pros

  • Ride and Handling: Drives like a car, and not a big truck
  • Power: Even with the 5.3 you can kick it sideways
  • Interior Space: Crew cab is massive, slept in the back while camping on a bike trip.

Cons

  • Technology and Entertainment: Not a fan of the locked on star and eco mode crap

Excellent condition and very low mileage

I have owned four Chevy Silverado Trucks over the past 18 years and all have performed wonderfully. This includes 1500's and a 2500 HD Duramax, extended and crew cabs. The is fully loaded 2014 Silverado Crew Cab Z71 4WD package with all the trimmings. Great truck for a great price.

Pros

  • Ride and Handling: Quiet and very smooth for a truck.
  • Technology and Entertainment: Numerous digital features; Bluetooth, MyLink, Dashboard Intelligence.
  • Interior Space: Crew Cab is very roomy. Holds 5 Adults with room to spare.
