If you want a pure electric car, a hybrid and a gasoline car all in one, the Volt is your car. Nothing else like it out there. With 25 to 40 miles of pure electric range, you'll hardly ever rely on the 9.3 gallon back gasoline tank if your daily driving falls in the said range. And since the engine will not be on during most of your driving, there's less oil changes. Chevy still recommends you change the oil every 2 years. Then there's no transmission to break. Just pure torque and silent linear acceleration. Looking at what's out there currently, looks like my future car will be another Volt.
Cannot remember the last time I bought gas
2013 Chevrolet VoltBill Towler - Richmond, VA05/25/2016
I am very happy that I no longer make a visit to the local gas station 1 or 2 times a week anymore. The 38-42 mile range gets me to work and back everyday. I have a charger at work The electricity bill has hardly moved. I think the electric equivalent is .10-.20 cents a gallon in electric use. Gas is over $2.00/gallon. Spend my savings going out to dinner more.
Awesome car, a few minor details to work out
2012 Chevrolet VoltMickey Habis - Ventura, CA07/27/2015
I've just driven my first 2,600 miles on 8 gallons of gas and that's only because the car told me my gas was getting stale and should be used. Just installed solar panels on the house so it should cost almost nothing to run (i haven't taken a long trip yet though). Car handles beautifully, great on curves, solid, smooth, QUIET, sound system is awesome, seats are comfortable. Feels like a luxury car. Really sporty looking. If you buy a 3 year old pre-leased car you can get great deals.
