The Volt is a very nice car, definitely under appreciated. It is comfortable, quiet and easy to drive, and received the highest safety rating. I get around 70 miles electric in summer and 52 winter. The engine runs near seamlessly with electric power. It's nice to choose the lesser of gas or electric power at will. The collision warning, adaptive cruse, self parking work wonderfully. I enjoy seeing the speed limit of roads on the dash at all times as my other cars have done. The radio / infotainment system is more flaw free than my 2015 A3 and 2013 911. Driving in the snow is predictable and easy as any front wheel drive car. I have two desires in this car one automatic windshield wipers, and two improved cool weather climate control.
I'm huge on the newest green technology out there and this car definitely fits the bill! It looks amazing and people passing by can't help but look! Never have to worry about fluctuating daily gas prices because if you keep your commutes with 40-45 miles, they'll never matter to you! We've bought 2 Volts now in the past few months and we will never go back to a regular gas only vehicle. The fuel vs electricity savings are through the roof and if you can get a model with a few extra perks (leather, sensors, backup camera) you'll be all the more pleased with it!
I've just driven my first 2,600 miles on 8 gallons of gas and that's only because the car told me my gas was getting stale and should be used. Just installed solar panels on the house so it should cost almost nothing to run (i haven't taken a long trip yet though). Car handles beautifully, great on curves, solid, smooth, QUIET, sound system is awesome, seats are comfortable. Feels like a luxury car. Really sporty looking. If you buy a 3 year old pre-leased car you can get great deals.
