Does the Pacifica name sound familiar? If so, that's probably because Chrysler had a Pacifica wagon/SUV model back in the early 2000s. Despite sharing a name, however, these two models are entirely different—and the Pacifica minivan as we know it today launched its first generation in 2017 as a replacement for the Town and Country.
Chrysler Pacifica Engine Options
Every first-generation (2017-2020) Pacifica comes standard with a 3.6L V6 engine at 287 hp under the hood. This engine is paired with a nine-speed transmission and comes exclusively in front-wheel drive.
Chrysler Pacifica Storage Space
The first-generation Pacifica is a dream if you have larger-than-average cargo storage needs. Behind its third row, you'll find 32.3 cubic feet of space. By folding down the rear row, you can increase storage space to 87.5 cubic feet—and that number extends to an impressive 140.5 cubic feet with both second- and third-row seats stowed away.

Reviews for 2017 Chrysler Pacifica
With you every step of the way
CarMax gathered everything we were looking for in a vehicle & broke down all of our options. Our Chrysler Grand Touring is spacious, drives smoothly, & automated doors/hatch make access easier than ever with all our children.
- Seat Comfort: A comfortable seat in the van for everyone.
- Interior Space: The space inside allows us to carry our diaper bags, stroller, and groceries.
- Technology and Entertainment: Rearview camera, automated doors, push to start button, heated seats
- Fuel Economy: A little pricey on gas
Shaky beginning with CarMax
Yes, This will be my 4th Chrysler minivan and I was happy with each of them. The last one I kept 16 years! This one is pretty loaded and I'm very pleased with it. It did have some issues initially but CarMax held to their agreements and warranties and got it in good running order.
- Ride and Handling: For a large minivan that I don't really need, it rides and handles great.
- Seat Comfort: A big issue with me. This sits comfortably, and I have good visibility.
- Fuel Economy: I don't expect minivans to be all that great but this is truly better on mileage than my last one. I don't drive freeways as much as I used to either so for short trips around town I am happy with the mileage I do get.
- Ride and Handling: Seems a little rougher than any I've had as you start to pick up. Once you get going it's great.
- Seat Comfort: I only wish it would have had memory seats.
The right vehicle for me
It’s perfect for me. It’s easy to get in/out with my arthritis. It’s the sleekest van on the road. Rides very well, and is perfect to haul my dogs in as all the seats go down into the floor. I’d recommend this vehicle to anyone, especially families and people with pets.
- Ride and Handling: Smooth ride and steers easily.
- Cabin Noise: Quiet
- Dashboard: Love how it lights up and is sleek
- Seat Comfort: It’s ok, but could be cushier
- Visibility: Wish the windows were more tinted
- Weather Versatility:
