2004 Ford ExplorerSidog - Palm Harbor Florida03/10/2007
I purchased a used 2004 Ford Explorer recently with 31K miles. I have been very pleased with the overall quality and comfort of this SUV. The ride is smooth and the acceleration is good for a big vehicle. There is plenty of passenger room and storage. Best of all was the price- much more reasonable than other high priced SUVs on the market. Miles per gallon is average for a vehicle this size in the city and pretty good on highway. Last but not least -this is a sharp looking SUV!! I would highly recommend buying a Ford Explorer!!

Purchased an Explorer for it's cargo carrying and towing capacity. Have a fishing boat I haul to Canada every summer and the towing capability was rated fine for my boat. Had the vehicle for less than two weeks and the radiator had a leak and was replaced. Shortly after that I notice another antifreeze leak and this time it was the radiator cap. Noticed difficulty putting car into gear from Park to Drive. Thought it was me but problem persisted until one day couldn't get it out of Park altogether. Found out Ford had a service memo on the problem and had a whole new gearshift installed. Was glad I just made it under the thirty day warranty for repair. Wasn't sure if I was going to take out an extended warranty but with the thought I had just bought a lemon I did. Rides nice and still trying to get use to the five speed transmission. The extra shifting is something I'm not use to. My problem. Also, went to a V-6 for better gas mileage but so far I only get about 17 mpg which is about the same as my previous SUV that I traded in. Was rated to get 20 mpg on the highway but haven't seen it yet. Looks great, rides nice and love the 4 wheel drive in bad weather.

It's comfortable and roomy. Plenty of storage in the back.
