great gas mileage
a lil expensive on the maintenance side but worth every penny
lots of get up and go
wish the back seating was wider
Has the feel of a 3 series BMW but with adaptive suspension it is like having your cake and eating it too.
I average 42mpg in a mix of city and stop and go traffic. I will best 50 on the open interstate for hundreds of miles at a time. This is the 2.0L turbo diesel. yes, aware of the timing guide wear so change your oil every 5k and drive the car so it never has to passive regen the dpf and dilute the oil. You drive this car on short trips and only change the oil every 20k as recommended and you risk the problems. I have seen many over 200k without fault. 2019 they upgraded the timing chain guides. Many cars have had these issues in that era. Understand it and know how to mitigate it.
AWD in a economical and premium package seems like cheating. The XE shares the same platform as the Range Rover Velar I also have and although not programed the same it is sublime in bad weather with good tires. Drives like a sports car, sips fuel like an economy car and runs over the pass in snow like a SUV. it is literally a swiss army knife of a car.
boot is on the small side in class as well as the rear seat room for large adults but to change that would alter the nice lines of the car.
I have the upgraded 10.2 touch screen which is much better than the standard 8 that lags but even still it can take 15-20 seconds to launch. Once going it works great. The Meridian Surround Sound is well worth it. I would not own a car without. I have had cars with HK, JBL, Bang olefson and this is right there.
It is not as well isolated from road noise as a 7 series or S class but it is also not the same class of car. I have the optional 19" wheels so my tire size contributes to the road noise. Not all surfaces are bad. I compare this to my 330ci and M3 here. You know what surface you are on but it is not intrusive. it just lacks the quiet isolation of a full size premium car which some people like and some don't.
I never had any maintenance or repair costs.
When you drop the petal, this F-Pace steps on her tippy toes and flies. I have had other Jaguars and this one was exceptional for me.
I loved her sleek lines and design Esthetique. The headlight configuration gives her a squinty, don't-stare-too-hard look.
She had far less cargo capacity than I expected when I bought her. Being an SUV, I expected more room for luggage for trips.
Don't listen to the person that says the car turns itself off at stoplights or intersections. There is a control that disables this functionality which was designed to make the car more fuel efficient. I hated it and turned it off.
Jags have never had truly stellar performance in their electronics and technology. This is more of the same. The software is not nearly as robust as it should have been. It felt like Jaguar went out of its way to design an amazing hardware beast and the software, electronics, et al. were somewhat of an afterthought.
