Generation Overview

The 2019 Jeep Cherokee was released as part of this crossover SUV's second generation of production; this particular generation debuted in 2014 after a long hiatus for the Cherokee from 2002 through 2013. When the new model was introduced, it stood out with an optional V6 engine and a revised nine-speed automatic transmission to deliver a smooth ride. Other available features, including an 8.4-inch touchscreen interface and automated parking system, also made the second-generation Cherokee a compelling choice for buyers.

By the 2019 model year, the Cherokee saw refreshed exterior styling, an upgraded infotainment system, and an optional turbocharged 2.0L engine.

2019 Jeep Cherokee Engine Options

A 2.4L four-cylinder engine at 180 hp is standard on the 2019 Cherokee. If you're looking for more power, two additional engine options were available on the 2019 model. One is a 3.2L V6 at 271 hp, and the other is a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder at 270 hp.

Every engine is paired to a nine-speed automatic transmission and standard front-wheel drive, although two different all-wheel drive systems were also optional when the 2019 Cherokee was sold new. The Trailhawk trim is offered exclusively with all-wheel drive.

2019 Jeep Cherokee Interior

The 2019 Jeep Cherokee is designed with a lot of clever storage space; in addition to the 24.6-cubic-foot cargo area, this crossover features an adjustable load floor to suit your needs. When rear seats are folded down, this feature makes it easy to level the cargo area with the folded seats when desired. And when those 60/40-split-folding seats are down, you'll enjoy 54.7 cubic feet of storage space.

Another clever storage solution found in the 2019 Cherokee is in the front-passenger seat, which boasts a storage compartment inside the seat cushion. This, in addition to a large glovebox and expansive door pockets, allow for ample small-item storage solutions throughout the cabin.

Good vehicle

Pros:Good reliable daily driver Love the feel of the overall performance Decent gas mileage for the v6 model Cons:Android auto literally controls and hijacks your phone have bricked my phone with black. screen of death. Comes with no spare tire or Jack but a tire inflator is included For 2019 model the entertainment is bare basic but has bluetooth so you dont have to connect to android auto and brick your phone.

  • Ride and Handling: Great

  • Technology and Entertainment: Android auto needs big update it will brick your phone randomly mine happened when the phone rang

Sporty mom car drives amazing

Love the way this vehicle drives, the way it sounds, and all it's features. Of course I could think of a thing or two I would change about the vehicle but so far it is my favorite car ever owned. I love the way it looks. It is a suitable car for toting my two kids around, still in car seats, so the height of the vehicle is perfect for me who is 5'10". Would definitely recommend to a friend looking for a stylish mom car that does not need a third row.

  • Value: All the features I wanted and a much newer year with less miles then I was consdering with other brands of cars.
  • Styling: Love the way this vehicle looks!
  • Ride and Handling: Drives like a dream.

  • Cargo Space: Trunk would be better if it was a little bigger,
  • Dashboard: I wish the steering wheel had buttons to turn the volume up and down, but there is only one knob the the center console.
  • Interior Space: A person cannot sit in the back seat with two car seats.

Love my Jeep Cherokee!

It has a lot of great features for sure, but one of the main reasons I bought it is because I feel safer in it. I was involved in a rear end accident & was driving a Jeep Cherokee rental. I was fine - no injuries - and the Jeep had a minor scratch on the rear bumper. The vehicle that hit me was completely crumpled in the front and the driver & passengers were injured!

  • Cargo Space: it holds everything I need it to.
  • Fuel Economy: it’s been really good on gas mileage. Very important with the cost of gas right now.
  • Visibility: I am short. I like the visibility I have in this SUV.

  • Ride and Handling: It is not horrible, but the ride could be a little smoother. takes bumps kinda hard.
