This is the first Mazda I've ever own. So far this car is as reliable as Toyota. I love everything about this car except the seat does not fit me really well because I am very short and my back and neck hurt when driving long hours. Now that I found a seat cushion to lift me a little, this issue is solved. You hear road noise but I expected it from a car in the class. I should add the Skyactive engine requires 0W-20 oil, which is a little expensive. I wish I had known that before I bought this car. However, this car saves me gas money and I enjoy driving.
5 month mechanical issues

Don't get me wrong I love this car, the second I drove it I fell in love. But in the first 5 months we discovered my external thermostat needed to be replaced, my alternator needed to be replaced because anytime I made a turn or hit the breaks or accelerated all the lights on my car would flicker. One of the brakes has been catching ever since I bought the car. And lastly the dash warped and of course is not covered.
Awesome gas mileage, comfortable, attractive interior, sunroof, heated seats, love the nav system, great sound, easy to connect my ipod, rear seats fold down easily making this little car capable of hauling all sorts of stuff! The cover over the way back is easy to pop out and back in - and can be connected to raise with the hatch - or not. It's zippy, easy to drive, comfortable for a road trip, and just as comfortable and at ease all dressed up and headed out in the city.
