2014 Mazda Mazda3
The Only Right Choice for this Segment

This is the best handling and best looking car in the segment. It has an adequate amount of power but another 20 horsepower would go a long way. Although the trade off is the exceptional fuel economy. The stock tires create a little too much road noise on rough surfaces but nicer tires can always be installed. The fact of the matter is that if you enjoy driving and need a good commuter than this is the only choice.

2020 Mazda Mazda3
good value at the price point

PROS
Styling

this car is very beautiful inside and out and looks way better than almost all cars in its class, i love the sleek and elegant design choices.

Value

I feel I got a good value for this vehicle. It comes with a stellar sound system. It feels very premium inside with the material choices and styling. has nice quality of life features like seat position settings that also adjust mirrors for you, a backup camera, apple carplay, leather heated seats, some assisted driving features, keyless entry and start, remote start that works with an app (may be a pro or con because it only works with the app but i prefer the app as long as they keep it free like it currently is). also includes a sunroof, auto headlights, and auto wipers.

Ride and Handling

i love the way this vehicle drives. it feels more powerful than my old vehicle. it’s very comfortable and i can take several hour road trips (at least as the driver) with no issue. the back seat i can see being an issue if i was to ride in it because i am a little over 6ft and my head does not have a ton of room but the front is very comfortable for me and i have no problems with the ride quality. it feels very smooth and comfortable while feeling like it can handle turns and grips very well. the all wheel drive system keeps me stable in snow and ice and i can feel it helping me with traction in adverse conditions

CONS
Reliability

check engine light came on after a couple months of ownership, took it to the dealer and got it fixed for free but makes me worry about future issues.

Technology and Entertainment

Does not have a touchscreen for apple carplay/infotainment which is disappointing… the dial is great but it would be a great addition to have touch screen for certain things like navigating the maps app easier and typing in addresses easier and faster. would also love to see 360° camera but the backup camera is great by itself. more safety features would be a good bonus as well but it does include lane departure assist, head up display, radar cruise, backup camera with warning system for oncoming cars, and emergency stop capability. i would love for a self driving or assisted driving system because while the current system does a lot it could have some more engagement like active lane keep assist and telling you the current speed limit on the head up display.

Fuel Economy

fuel economy is okay… it’s a little low compared to what some other similar vehicles are getting (mid-high 30’s) while this is mid 20s for me. i fill up around half a tank or a little below and it only costs me around 15ish dollars each time and i get about 200-300 or more miles on a tank depending on city or highway driving.
