2011 Nissan FrontierGerald Smith - Marco Island, FL06/25/2015
All around great pickup truck. My boys got into a broadside collision that crushed the passenger side and spun the truck around 180 degrees. The other car was totaled. The protection of the cab and the side window airbags allowed my boys to walk away without a scratch. This truck saved their lives. After the body shop repaired/replaced the damage it again looks and drives like new. Incredible!
With the backup camera, it is easier to park than a full-size truck, but you sit up higher than a car so still have a truck feel. It has a tonneau cover, so items can be relatively securely stored in the bed. For Interstate driving where cruise control is appropriate, it appears to have enough power to drive through mountains. The four-wheel drive is easy to turn on and off.
The Frontier Nissan PickUp is a sweet little truck, simplicity is the foundation for the design. It adapts well from a small or petite driver to a big girl like me. I can slide the seat all the way back and have plenty of room for my long legs, and good head room too. It is tall enough so that coming out of a full-sized SUV I don't have to feel like I was demoted to a skateboard as in other makes that I test drove. The doors and handles feel solid and sturdy so I am not afraid of damaging the door mechanism if a passenger slams the door when they exit. There is enough room behind the seat for groceries or a pet. The instruments are easy to read and cab lighting is adequate. MPG is reasonable for the engine size. There are gauges so I don't have to rely on "idiot lights" to tell me when something is wrong when it is too late to address the problem. I like the return to a stripped down basic package with a 5 spd manual transmission. I feel like I am actually driving again and not just steering and pushing on the gas like a child. It is the difference between a "point and shoot" camera and a real camera that one can operate with skill. I love my little pick-up.
