Generation Overview

The 2016 Pathfinder falls in the middle of this midsize crossover's fourth generation of production (2013-2020). Unlike the previous generation, which was designed more for off-roading, the fourth-generation Pathfinder prioritizes comfort and practicality. Offering a standard 3.5L V6 engine and more available creature comforts than previous generations (like a heated steering wheel on the SL trim), this Pathfinder is still capable of taking you off the beaten path with confidence.

By the 2016 model year, the Pathfinder also featured a standard continuously variable transmission (CVT) for a smooth ride.

2016 Nissan Pathfinder Engine Options

A capable 3.5L V6 engine at 260 hp is standard on every 2016 Pathfinder, as is a CVT and front-wheel drive. If you need more traction, check out a used 2016 Pathfinder with all-wheel drive; every trim on the 2016 model year was available with it.

2016 Nissan Pathfinder Storage Space

The 2016 Nissan Pathfinder is versatile enough to flex its cargo storage space based on your needs. When you need seating for all seven passengers, you'll still have 16 cubic feet of storage space behind the third row. You can also fold down the third row to extend cargo storage or maximize it by folding down the second and third rows of seating; doing so creates a full 79.8 cubic feet.

Decent Car For The Price

Though it’s priced economically, you get what you pay for. The car is not built with quality and strength. The gas gauge is deceptive and the air heating and cooling system along with the dash set up could be improved.
