About the 2015 Ram 1500

Vehicle Summary

The Ram 1500 regularly does battle with the Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and Ford F-150 in the never-ending battle for full-size pickup supremacy. However, the 2015 Ram 1500 sets itself apart through a variety of exceptional features, including a multilink coil spring suspension that drastically improves the full-size truck’s ride. There’s also an available “four-corner” air suspension system that provides further ride and handling improvements along with load leveling capabilities and five available ride height modes. You’ll also get available V8 power in the 2015 Ram 1500 courtesy of the 5.7L Hemi® V8 engine. Available convenience and technology features range from the bedside-mounted RamBox cargo management system to a full-time 4WD system. Since 2009, the former Dodge Ram has been known as simply the Ram truck. Whether you’re interested in a capable workhorse or a comfortable street cruiser, you’ll enjoy the impressive versatility the 2015 Ram 1500 delivers in both instances.

Generation Overview

The Ram 1500 was once known as the Dodge Ram 1500 until late 2011, when Chrysler Group LLC. transformed the Dodge nameplate’s truck line into its own standalone brand. The 2015 model represents the tail end of the long-lived fourth generation, which coincidentally got its start in 2009. With 10 trim levels to choose from in addition to the three cab styles and three box lengths, the 2015 Ram 1500 offers an abundance of choice. The 2015 engine lineup is a bit more straightforward with just three choices available: a standard 3.6L Pentastar® V6 with 305 hp, a 5.7L Hemi V8 with 395 hp and a 3.0L EcoDiesel V6 with 240 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. All three engines rely on an eight-speed automatic transmission for power delivery.

Some of the 2015 Ram 1500’s more notable features include the dash-mounted rotary gear selection dial and an available full-color vehicle information center with a variety of customizable features. The available Uconnect® infotainment system also gives you an 8.4-inch touchscreen, along with an assortment of available vehicle apps. Depending on your chosen trim level, you’ll also have a wide range of interior seating surfaces to choose from, including Bristol leather and Natura leather with various piping and perforated inserts.
