About the Ram 1500
Vehicle Summary
Since its inception in the 1980s, the rugged Dodge Ram pickup truck has seen a lot of changes. Now in its fifth generation of production, this popular pickup has been known as simply the Ram 1500 since Dodge made the Ram name a standalone brand in 2009. Thanks to its many options for customization, towing capacity, and versatility on and off the road, it's no wonder the Ram 1500 is such a popular choice among truck buyers.

2009 - Present Ram 1500 Trim Configurations
For the 2009 model year, the Dodge Ram saw a complete redesign with a focus on a more powerful Hemi® engine, as well as the first Ram truck to be offered with four-door cab seating. Throughout the fourth generation, there were many changes and upgrades to the trim options available. Dodge shifted the Ram name to its own moniker in 2011, making the Dodge Ram 1500 simply the Ram 1500. Keeping up with the differences in Ram 1500 specs, trims, and features across model years can be a challenge, but we've made it easy for you. Comparing these model years and trims can ultimately help you decide which Ram 1500 is right for you.
