Transmission: Automatic Color:White Interior Color: Gray Average Vehicle Review: (0 reviews) I use this car to drive to/from work. My family uses a different one, but the kids like to ride in the Avalon because it goes fast. I don't really like the radio. It is not as "smart" as I would have expected (this is the reason for the 4 star rating). All in all, it has a lot of room, quick, leather interior, and the radio sounds great despite its shortcomings IMO.

Good car and fun to drive

I use this car to drive to/from work. My family uses a different one, but the kids like to ride in the Avalon because it goes fast. I don't really like the radio. It is not as "smart" as I would have expected (this is the reason for the 4 star rating). Avalon's Nav System is Inferior

Our 2008 Avalon is an excellent cae and we have been satisfied in every respect except one very notable exception: the navigation system. The user interface of the Avalon is annoying and very hard to use. It takes a good amount of studying to learn how to use it at all. The first indication of this is when you notice that it uses a "joystick" in leiu of a touch screen. The feature comes at an outrageous price and has a design that seems far less advanced than any $200 navigation system one can buy at Radio Shack. My 2008 map CD is out of date and the new updated CD costs $265. The fact that it even uses a CD is disapointing. Most of the modern GPS devices use a small plug-in memory chip that can be updated on-line for about $45. The Toyota system also chooses to play nanny by prohibiting anyone from changing the destination unless the car is at a complete stop.
