The Volvo XC60 is praised for its excellent ride quality, advanced safety features, and comfortable interior. However, concerns include high maintenance costs and inconsistent fuel efficiency. It appeals to those seeking a premium SUV with a balance of performance and practicality.
The AWD 3 liter straight 6 Turbo model (T6) has handled ice and snow without effort. Being a Scandinavian car (mine was manufactured in Belgium), it has no issues warming up in the winter. The 6 cylinder turbo has no lag and easily accelerates on to highways. Comfort is fantastic for both short and tall drivers. The roominess in the back is as much as a small flatbed pickup when the seats are down.
Responsive throttle, excellent braking. Comfortable in the city when fighting traffic and a monster when you have open highway and a turbo under the hood.
6 Cylinder. Turbo. Highway on ramps or passing is a breeze. Not painful on the fuel or RPMs.
I had moved recently prior to this purchase. With the seats down i was able to move wardrobe boxes with no issues due to the high cabin ceiling (great for tall people!)
There is some unexplained rattling sounds from the back seat i can't seem to mitigate. But for a 2016 with reasonable wear - Its not too bad.
Its a 2016. Ignore the satnav all-together. Just use your phone.
The windshield is OEM. It has a defroster grid in it comparable to the back window of modern cars. If one of those goes out, you'll have to go to Volvo for a replacement. The drainage channels that relieve moisture from the sunroof run down the A pillar on the drivers side. They are prone to cracking and could leak all over the electrical system down by the floor where your fuses are. I haven't had this problem but it's something to consider. Keeping the gaskets of the sunroof supple is on you and a cheap self- preventive maintenance task. Take care of the car and you won't have expensive fixes.
Enough room in the back.
With in 18 months, I brought in to the shop to be repaired over 20 times. The infotainment system had many issues. The over all build quality is horrible. Consumer Reports gave it a 2 out of 5. I'd give it a 1. I paid $58,000. The Volvo dealer said they will buy it back for $30,000. I've had it for less than 2 years. Worst car I have ever owned.
bought at the end of December. it is not the first of June and my car has been at the Volvo dealership for 9-10 weeks now for an issue that can not diagnose and that was previously taken in for service for BEFORE I purchased from car max
