A sporty choice with interesting options
The 2024 Acura TLX is a luxury sports sedan through and through. It’s got a sportier exterior than more classic-looking sedans, thanks to frameless front grilles, sleek wheel style, rear spoiler, and aggressive front styling. The three trims across this model have also got some cool interior features that make them fun and exciting to drive, including powerful audio systems, ambient lighting, a head-up display, and an attractive digital cluster. Buyers may find interesting customizations on the used car marketplace that deliver a few nice extras.

5 reasons to buy the 2024 Acura TLX
1. Three trims give you a choice
The 2024 Acura TLX comes in three trims. The first two are built on the same body and engine — a four-cylinder, 2.0L VTEC engine, and 10-speed automatic transmission — but one comes with the Technology Package and the other comes with the A-Spec Package. The Technology Package includes a 13-speaker ELS Studio audio system, ambient lighting, GPS-linked climate control, a blind spot information system, and more. The A-Spec Package builds on that by adding sporty aesthetic touches plus a 17-speaker ELS Studio audio system. The third trim is the Type S, which has a six-cylinder, 3.0L engine, offers both style and substance.
2. Agile all-wheel drive
Like many newer Acura models, the TLX’s A-Spec and Type S trims come with Super Handling All-Wheel Drive (SH-AWD) and torque vectoring, which deliver power strategically around the car to improve control and handling (the base with the Technology Package is only front-wheel drive). The SH-AWD system allows drivers to turn corners, navigate inclement weather, and hit the dirt trail with greater confidence and superior handling. The 19-inch wheels on the Technology and A-Spec packages and the 20-inchers on the Type S also help TLX drivers take on nearly every possible weather condition.
3. Modern features (minus the touchpad)
Acura’s choice to stick with its laptop-like trackpad will delight anyone who prefers a more tactile experience, but at least the other infotainment features vibe with more modern industry trends. The 2024 TLX comes with Apple CarPlay®, Android Auto™, and Bluetooth® connectivity, as well as several driver-assist features across all trims. Those include warnings for lane departure, road departure, and forward collision, among others. The 2024 TLX also offers traffic jam assist, helping to take the stress out of stop-and-go traffic.
4. Type S delivers more power
The base TLX offers 272 horsepower, which is nothing to sneeze at — but the Type S engine goes above and beyond with a combined 355 horsepower and significantly more torque. For the 2024 TLX, however, more power comes with less fuel economy. The 2024 TLX with Technology Package clocks in at an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city, 31 on the highway, and 25 combined. EPA-estimated fuel economy on the A-Spec and Type S — both of which feature the SH-AWD — drops slightly to combined ratings of 24 mpg and 21 mpg, respectively.
5. An impressive value
The 2024 Acura TLX delivers value in two key ways: its fun, unique styling and its deep bench of features. On the first one, the comfortable, upscale interior and sleek, assertive exterior are a perfect match for drivers looking to marry performance and looks. As for features, even the entry-level TLX Technology Package is an attractive collection of features that amplify the driving experience. Those who opt for the Type S may get more eye-catching options to choose from, turning an off-the-dealer’s-lot pick into a bespoke machine.
