2017 Audi S5 review

1. Excellent performance 

Considering that it’s the sportier version of Audi’s A5 model, performance is what sets the S5 apart. The 2017 Audi S5 is fitted with a supercharged engine that makes sure there is plenty of power available, along with a precise and efficient transmission for a smooth driving experience. Specifically, it’s a supercharged direct-injected 3.0L V6 engine with 333 hp and 325 lb-ft of torque, combined with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. With this setup, acceleration time for the zero-to-60 dash is an amazing 4.5 seconds. 

2. Comfortable interior 

The 2017 Audi S5 is as exciting and rewarding to ride in as it is to drive. It has a nice cabin with a great layout and beautiful materials throughout. Leather and faux suede upholstery is standard, along with heated, power-adjustable front seats. For a greater sense of refinement, there is the standard ambient interior lighting and brushed aluminum interior trim. 

3. All-wheel drive improving performance further 

While the supercharged engine on the 2017 Audi S5 is capable enough on its own, it’s further helped by the all-wheel drive that comes as part of the standard equipment. It’s Audi’s popular quattro^® system, which sends power to all four wheels for increased stability and improved balance. It provides increased traction on all types of surfaces and during inclement weather, as well as better cornering capabilities. 

4. Infotainment and connectivity features 

The upscale cabin of the 2017 Audi S5 is accompanied by a series of features that keep passengers connected and entertained. There is a standard infotainment system with a 6.5-inch screen and Bluetooth^® connectivity, as well as satellite radio and a 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen^® audio system. Although the MMI infotainment system is a little tricky to use at first, once you get the hang of it, you will be able to easily take advantage of all its benefits. 

5. Standard driver-assistance systems 

The 2017 Audi S5 is equipped with a couple of systems to assist you on the road. For one thing, there is a standard rearview camera and front and rear parking sensors, which are quite useful especially in terms of maneuverability on crowded parking lots and garages. It also comes standard with blind-spot monitoring and rain-sensing windshield wipers.
