2024 Audi S5 review

1. Great acceleration from turbocharged V6 engine 

Every 2024 Audi S5 is powered by the same engine, and it’s a potent one; a 3.0L turbocharged V6, producing 349 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. On its own, that would be more than enough to make this car a blast away from the lights, but that punchy engine is also mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission and an all-wheel-drive system to send that power to all four wheels. The results speak for themselves: zero to 60 mph in just 4.3 seconds.  

2. The interior is stylish and well-appointed 

Step inside the 2024 Audi S5’s cabin and you’ll find a sleek and stylish interior full of premium adornments. There’s seating for five and all of your passengers can enjoy standard comfort features including three-zone automatic climate control, a panoramic sunroof (coupe and hatchback models), leather and synthetic suede upholstery, and LED ambient cabin lighting. As a bonus, front seat occupants also get heated and power-adjustable front seats with massage functionality, with heated rear seats included on the top-line Prestige trim.   

3. Thrilling handling  

The 2024 Audi S5 isn’t just exciting in a straight line; if anything, the fun only increases when you get into the curves. The all-wheel-drive system improves grip and is teamed with sports suspension alongside larger front brakes to help with fast cornering and stopping. Additionally, the Premium Plus and Prestige trims include the S Sport option package, which goes all-in on the thrills with adaptive suspension dampers and a sport-tuned torque-vectoring rear differential to help you put all the power down out of the corners. To top it all off, dynamic steering can be found as a standalone upgrade, which changes the steering ratio on the fly to improve responsiveness and stability at speed.  

4. Feature list packed with tech and luxury options 

Speaking of trims, the 2024 Audi S5 has a lengthy feature list full of high-tech equipment across the three trim levels. Base Premium models are well-equipped with standard features right out of the gate, and Premium Plus trims build on that with tech features including a wireless charging pad, digital instrument panel, and surround-view camera system. The Prestige trim rounds things off with a heads-up display, traffic sign recognition, a navigation system, and even an automated parking system. 

5. Good choice of standard driver convenience features 

A big part of that expansive feature list revolves around driver convenience equipment, with numerous technologies included across the 2023 Audi S5 range - many of them as standard. All 2023 S5s come with forward collision warning, lane departure mitigation, a lane centering system, adaptive cruise control, and parking sensors front and rear all by default, giving you peace of mind even in stressful or busy driving situations. For a little bit extra, the Premium Plus trim adds blind-spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, as well as the aforementioned surround-view camera system.
