2022 Audi S6 is high-tech, luxurious, and fast
The 2022 Audi S6 proves a luxury sedan with copious amounts of speed doesn’t need to be a weekend-only plaything. Based on the fifth-generation A6 introduced for the 2019 model year, the S6 returned to the Audi lineup in 2020, and it has had only minor changes since then. The basic blueprint of the S6 consists of a turbocharged V6 that delivers 444 horsepower and works in cooperation with a quick-acting eight-speed automatic transmission.
Fitted with Audi’s all-wheel drive, the S6 powers down the road smoothly and isn’t fazed when Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate. Fuel economy is an EPA-estimated combined score of 22 mpg, which is reasonable considering the performance on tap. Meanwhile, the interior impresses with its superb materials and high degree of tech touches. Standard features include a dual-screen interface, including a 10.1-inch upper infotainment unit that’s compatible with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. The lower of the two screens controls vehicle settings, plus heating and cooling functions.

What We Like
All-weather performance: It’s nice to know the Audi S6 remains a willing driving companion even if rain, snow, or other slippery road conditions get in the way. With standard all-wheel drive and its composed suspension, the S6 is comfortable and relaxed in all types of weather.
Interior design: We sometimes feel like a broken record, repeating praise about the quality and elegance delivered by Audi’s cabins. Yet that once again rings true with the S6. All major controls and trim pieces look like they belong to a premium vehicle. There’s also more than enough space for adults seated in either row.
Tech features: The S6 comes with a wide range of tech features, including optional wireless device charging and a surround-view parking camera. With its dual-screen interface, the S6 has a sleek and modern dashboard that has more than a hint of wow factor to it.
What Needs Improvement
Reliance on touchscreen controls: Audi would be smart to keep the sharp dashboard design but simplify the controls and menus of the dual-screen setup. It can prove too distracting to input a command while staying focused on the road.
