Power meets luxury
BMW has long delivered legendary luxury, but its M performance arm takes that luxury and turns its performance to a 10. The 2014 BMW M5 is no exception. It comes standard with a turbocharged 4.4L V8 that pumps out 560 hp. Opt for the Competition Package and get another 15 hp added on. This power heads through a standard seven-speed dual-clutch transmission or an optional six-speed manual gearbox before heading out to all four wheels. This adds up to impressive acceleration for a midsize luxury sedan: it'll go from zero to 60 mph in 4.5 seconds with the manual transmission and without the Competition Package.

5 reasons to buy the 2014 BMW M5
1. Big-time performance
If you're looking for a luxury sedan with enough performance to please even your wildest side, the 2014 BMW M5 has you covered. Its 4.4L V8 engine delivers 560 hp through a standard seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This gearbox sends the power out to all four wheels for superior grip that helps it sprint to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds.
2. Two transmission options
The manual transmission is slowly dying off — especially in midsize luxury cars. The 2014 BMW M5 comes standard with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission that delivers quick shifts and a lightning-fast zero-to-60 time. However, if you prefer the analog feel of shifting your gears, the 2014 BMW M5 will oblige with its optional manual gearbox.
3. Balanced ride
The 2014 BMW M5 has several drive settings that tweak its suspension. In its higher settings, the M5 stiffens up and is ready for carving up back roads. However, put it on the default settings, and the suspension softens up, giving you a comfortable ride for your daily commute.
4. Great front seats
The BMW M5 is still a luxury car at heart, so BMW made sure its cabin delivers top-notch comfort. This is evident in its front seats, which will spoil you and your passenger with 16-way power adjustments, articulating headrests, and adjustable bolsters. They are also plenty supportive and offer ample legroom at 41.4 inches.
5. Lots of standard features
The 2014 BMW M5 has no shortage of upscale standard features you’ll love. For your tech-savvy side, the M5 offers the standard iDrive infotainment interface, navigation, a 16-speaker audio system, a six-disc CD changer, HD Radio, and more. To help ease your daily commute, it also includes standard driver-assist features like adaptive cruise control and front and rear parking sensors.
