If you choose the available captain's chairs rather than a bench for the second row, you can seat six. If you choose one of the two available twin-turbo V8 engine options, the X7 can tow up to an estimated 5,950 lbs when properly equipped — or an estimated 7,500 lbs with the optional tow hook.
