Classic sedan with lots of options
Chevrolet’s bi-fuel system made its debut in the 2015 Impala, an early attempt by the carmaker to introduce alternative fuel sources into its vehicles. It’s not a make-or-break feature; it’s easy enough to ignore the compressed natural gas (CNG) function if you haven’t got convenient access to a CNG refill station. The optional V6 engine handily outperforms the base trim’s 2.5L engine and is worth considering as you peruse the used car marketplace. Overall, the 2015 Chevy Impala is a comfortable ride with an interesting power-up proposition.

5 reasons to buy the 2015 Chevrolet Impala
1. Two engine choices, plus a bi-fuel option
The LS base trim of the 2015 Chevrolet Impala comes with a 2.5L, four-cylinder engine delivering 196 horsepower. The LT and LTZ trims, meanwhile, give you the choice between the LS engine and a 3.6L, V6 engine offering 305 horsepower. The LT and LTZ trims also offer the choice between a gas-only engine and a bi-fuel engine that can switch between compressed natural gas (CNG) and gasoline. For 2015 Impalas outfitted with the bi-fuel system, horsepower drops to 206 when running on CNG and 245 when running on gasoline.
2. Decent fuel economy
The 2015 Impala’s 2.5L gas-only engine delivers an EPA-estimated 22 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway, while the 3.6L gas engine offers 18 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway.
By comparison, the 2015 Impalas outfitted with Chevy’s bi-fuel system get 17 mpg in the city and 25 mpg on the highway for the gasoline component, and 16 mpg in the city and 24 on the highway for the CNG component.3. A quiet, comfortable ride
The 2015 Chevrolet Impala is a relaxing ride. The acoustic-laminated windshield and the front-side glass as well as the triple-sealed doors cut out road and wind noise, while the capable handling puts control in your hands. As for comfort, all trims come with eight-way power adjustment and four-way lumbar control for the driver, with different combinations of seating options for the front and rear passengers depending on trim level. The heated steering wheel optional add-on, as well as the LTZ’s heated front seats and optional ventilated seats, together elevate driver comfort.
4. Roomy interior and cargo
The 2015 Impala seats five with its 105 cu-ft of passenger volume. Additionally, both the front and back benches offer ample passenger space. The front lends 45.8 inches of legroom and 39.9 inches of headroom, while the rear gives passengers 39.8 inches of legroom and 37.4 inches of headroom. If you have kids, the 2015 Impala can grow alongside your family. Cargo space with the rear seats up measures a handy 18.8 cu-ft on the non-CNG trims, but drops to 10 cu-ft on vehicles with the bi-fuel system.
5. Upscale looks
The 2015 Impala is a handsome four-door sedan with a wide stance, elongated body, and classic styling. Inside, trim-dependent materials offer varying degrees of comfort and class. Cloth seats are standard on the LS trim, while the LT has grey or black leatherette, premium cloth, and suede microfiber options to look out for with woodgrain accents on the infotainment and center console stack. The LTZ trim, meanwhile, offers leather-appointed seating with the optional striking, luxurious Mojave brown seats and accents. An uncluttered instrument panel and infotainment system offering refined convenience complete the look.
