5 reasons to buy the 2020 Hyundai Ioniq Electric
1. EV powertrain
Available since the 2017 model year, the Hyundai Ioniq hatchback is available in hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and all-electric variants. The EV version might just be the best of the bunch, and the range on a full charge for 2020 models is an EPA-estimated 170 miles, which was a significant increase over the 124-mile range for the 2019 version.
It has more power as well, putting out 134 hp, which is up from 118 hp in 2019.2. Cargo space
The hatchback layout is one of the best options on the market for those looking for extra cargo space in a compact package. The 2020 Ioniq Electric gets an impressive 23 cu-ft of space behind the rear seats. That means more room for your gear on your next long weekend, or just more room to help you out during your daily errands.
3. Great tech
The 2020 Ioniq Electric has all the great technology you would expect, such as standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ smartphone integration and an eight-inch touchscreen (a 10.25-inch touchscreen is available on the Limited trim). Hyundai went even further, adding the latest driver aids including adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, plus lane keeping and lane centering assist.
4. Limited trim
For the 2020 model year, Hyundai offered the Ioniq Electric in two trim levels, the SE and the Limited. Those looking for a bit more comfort and convenience should check out the Limited, which gets you leather seating surfaces with a power driver's seat (including lumbar support and memory settings), a sunroof, and ambient interior lighting. It also gets upgrades like the larger 10.25-inch touchscreen, LED headlights, wireless device charging, and navigation all as standard.
5. Interior room
The 2020 Ioniq Electric isn't just built to haul stuff, it's got a great five-passenger layout as well. You'll find 42.2in of legroom up front and a decent 35.7in for rear passengers. All that in a compact shape that will be right at home on a crowded city street. The 2020 Hyundai Ioniq Electric is ready for whatever you have to throw at it.
