Hyundai hasn't rested on the Tucson’s fine-driving laurels and for 2014 has given the compact SUV a refresh. You won't find anything revolutionary, but the trim levels receive some welcome enhancements. Hyundai dropped the base GL and replaced it with the GLS, meaning every 2014 Tucson comes with LED running lights, air conditioning, Bluetooth® connectivity, a tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel, iPod®/USB connectivity, and satellite radio. The next level SE trim gains a 4.3-inch central touchscreen, improved upholstery, better equipment inside and out, and a 2.4-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine. (The GLS uses a 2.0-liter engine.) The range-topping Limited trim comes fully loaded, leaving buyers little to ask for in luxury and convenience.
The Tucson remains a value-packed choice and stands as one of the most entertaining drives out there. Only the Ford Edge and the Mazda CX-5 match it on the road and both offer more interior and trunk space since the Tucson is one of the smaller compact SUVs. Indeed, if practicality is your goal, the Tucson trails its many rivals, but if you're unconcerned by that, Hyundai's contender remains a fine choice.

Hyundai's optional all-wheel drive continuously varies power between the front and rear wheels automatically. That should give you extra peace of mind in snow or other challenging terrains. So, whether you're considering booking that camping site a bit further out than usual or planning a route for the holiday trip up north this winter—you should consider the 2014 Tucson with available AWD.
For the 2014 model year, the Tucson was updated with streamlined exterior styling. This included new standard LED running lights as part of a revised front end that sets it apart from the competition. The handsome exterior proves that your compact SUV doesn't have to be dull. The 2014 Tucson is certainly anything but boring and would look great in your driveway.
The two-row Tucson seats five and comes with an impressive 25.7 cu-ft of cargo room behind the back seat. It does that while being significantly shorter than some of the other compact crossovers out there. At just 173.2 inches from bumper to bumper, the 2014 Tucson's size makes it easier to drive and park. Plus, its smaller footprint makes it more agile and fun to drive.
The 2014 model year also saw updates to Tucson's 2.0L and 2.4L inline-four cylinder engines. The peppy 2.0L engine produces 164 horsepower, while the optional 2.4L makes a robust 182 horsepower. Compare that to the sub-3,300-pound curb weight, and the 2014 Tucson is pretty quick, taking just over eight seconds to hit 60 mph with the 2.4L engine. That makes everything from the highway merge to passing just a bit easier.
The base 2014 Tucson has a 4.3-inch central touchscreen display, or you can opt for the upgraded seven-inch version to control the infotainment system. Standard features include a six-speaker sound system with iPod® and USB connectivity, plus satellite radio.
