2018 Lexus LX 570 review

1. Stout powertrain  

The engine under the hood of the 2018 Lexus LX 570 is a 5.7L 383-horsepower V8. It comes paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters, and can produce 403 lb-ft of torque. With the standard ball hitch on the rear, that kind of controlled power can tow an estimated 7,000 lbs, when properly equipped.

The 2018 LX 570 gets an EPA-estimated 15 mpg combined. 

2. All-wheel capability 

The 2018 Lexus LX 570 combines the muscular-controlled engine-transmission duo with sophisticated all-wheel drive and suspension systems. Beyond city and highway handling, the LX 570 shines once you leave the pavement. Handling perks including crawl control, hill-start assist, multi-terrain select, adaptive variable suspension, and active height control offer a suite of topographical customization to help maintain and optimize traction control.  

3. Interior versatility 

New to the 2018 Lexus LX 570 is a choice of seating configurations. The traditional three-row, eight-seat design remains standard, with 42.9 inches of legroom in the front, 34.4 inches in the center, and 28.4 inches in the rear. Now available is also a two-row, five-seat setup, if you would rather opt for more ready-to-load cargo space. Either way, both models include power-sliding, 60/40-split second-row seating, while the eight-passenger LX offers new power-folding capabilities to the 50/50-split third row. 

4. Immersive cabin theatre  

Screens abound on the 2018 LX 570. Upfront there's a 4.2-inch dashboard information display for the driver and a 12.3-inch infotainment touchscreen in the center console. Also available for the driver is a heads-up display that can project audio, speed, and turn-by-turn navigation directly onto the windshield. Finally, backseat passengers are also accounted for if you consider the 11.6-inch dual-screen entertainment system, which can be paired with a 19-speaker Mark Levinson^® sound system. 

5. Suite of driver aids 

As an eight- or five-seat full-sized luxury SUV, the 2018 Lexus LX 570 comes packed with driver aids you didn't even know you wanted. Pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, blindspot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert are standard. And there's also a unique pre-collision system, which if a frontal collision is determined as imminent, can automatically tighten front seatbelts and prime the braking system.
